Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I hope you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying time with family and friends. As August approaches, it's time to complete residency verification and annual registration for the upcoming school year.

To help us prepare class schedules, transportation routes, and staffing needs, please complete these tasks as soon as possible. The deadline for registration and residency verification through the Parent Portal is:

We are excited to introduce Mrs. Hannah Burasco as our new Assistant Principal. Mrs. Burasco joins us from Voy Spears Jr. Elementary, where she served as Assistant Principal for the past four years. Prior to that, she was Assistant Principal at William Bryant Elementary and a classroom teacher at Daniel Young Elementary. Her passion for education and dedication to student success make her a wonderful addition to our team. Mrs. Burasco is eager to meet our students and families, and we know you will join us in giving her a warm Puma welcome!

Students who have completed and received approval for residency verification by 5:00 PM on August 7 will be able to view their teacher assignment in the Parent Portal beginning:

Families who complete residency verification after August 7 will receive teacher assignments once residency has been approved and all enrollment forms have been completed.

Instructions and a video tutorial are available on the district website. Families with multiple students can save time by applying contact information to all students with a single click through Parent Portal.

Returning SPE Students: Please upload ONE of the following documents:

 

If you have difficulty uploading your document, please email it to: SPERegistration@bssd.net.

If you've forgotten your username or password, please use the Parent Portal recovery link.

If you do not have internet access at home, you may complete registration documents by appointment at SPE. Please call the school office to schedule an appointment.

Please enroll at your new school. Student records will be forwarded once we receive a records request from the new school.

If your student is new to the Blue Springs School District, please log in to Parent Portal and complete all enrollment forms as soon as possible.

If your kindergarten student participated in Kindergarten Enrollment/Screening in March, residency verification is not required at this time. However, please log in to Parent Portal to review and complete all required enrollment forms so your student's registration is finalized.
